Saturday Ride Out from Carnoustie to Arbroath

Posted by

I’m up around St Andrews for the weekend, so I decided to take advantage of the time and head out for a wee ride.

I started recording in Carnoustie, which was a bit of an unexpected trip down memory lane for me. I last visited Carnoustie in July 2024, when I was here with someone very special to me. Sadly, he passed away in November that year.

Coming back was a strange feeling. There’s obviously the memories of the last visit, but at the same time it was nice to be back and have a chance to take it all in again. I suppose that’s one of the things I like about riding — sometimes getting out on the bike gives you a bit of time and space to think.

From Carnoustie I headed along towards Arbroath, taking the opportunity to enjoy the roads and the scenery rather than having any particular destination in mind.

Eventually I ended up down by the shore in Arbroath and found a lovely wee spot to stop for a while. Nothing spectacular planned, no big adventure and no epic mileage — just a Saturday ride, some nice scenery and a bit of time on the bike.

And sometimes that’s exactly what you need.

The Ride

📍 Start: Carnoustie
🏍️ Destination: Arbroath
📍 Final stop: Arbroath seafront

The video is another fairly typical one from me — a bit of riding, a bit of scenery and, inevitably, a fair amount of me whittering away to the camera!

If you’re enjoying following along with my motorcycle journey, thanks for watching and thanks for sticking with me as I continue to learn and explore Scotland one ride at a time.
